He continued, "The Medicine City project began to be contemplated seven years ago, and it is a great leap in the pharmaceutical industry in Egypt, so everyone is happy to open it. A study is also being started on the manufacture of pharmaceutical raw materials and medicines for cancer, which will affect medicine prices in Egypt." On the feasibility of establishing the city, the Egyptian President’s Adviser for Health Affairs commented: “We have 153 pharmaceutical factories in Egypt, and an abundance of distinguished medical cadres, and the main purpose of having a giant city for medicine with international standards is to operate, manufacture and invent medicines, locally at a lower cost.” . He added, "Its presence (the city) will be a great addition to the health sector in Egypt, and the coming period will witness a great boom in the pharmaceutical industry, especially when Egypt enters the field of new industries such as the manufacture of pharmaceutical raw materials." Taj El-Din revealed that the two main assignments issued by Sisi were in the manufacture of raw materials for medicines in general, and the manufacture of oncology drugs in particular, so that they are easily available in the Egyptian market.
