The “Health Committee of the Egyptian Senate” recommends the necessity of preparing cadres within the Medicines Authority The Senate Health and Population Committee held a meeting today headed by Dr. Mohamed Jazar, Chairman of the Committee, to discuss the proposal submitted by Representative Mohamed El-Sheikh regarding the request of the Minister of Health and Population and the Chairman of the Egyptian Medicines Authority to find a permanent solution to fill the void created by transferring the Ministry’s dependencies to the Authority
The Senate Health and Population Committee held a meeting today headed by Dr. Mohamed Jazar, Chairman of the Committee, to discuss the proposal submitted by Representative Mohamed El-Sheikh regarding the request of the Minister of Health and Population and the Chairman of the Egyptian Medicines Authority to find a permanent solution to fill the void created by transferring the Ministry’s dependencies to the Authority The meeting was attended by Dr. Ayman Saad El-Din Al-Khatib, Vice President of the Egyptian Medicines Authority, Counselor Mohamed Adel El-Azab, Legal Adviser to the Authority, and Counselor Mohamed Darwish, Adviser to the Minister of Health and Population. Dr. Mohamed Jazar, head of the Senate’s Health and Population Committee, stressed the importance of coordination between the Ministry of Health and Population and the Egyptian Medicines Authority to solve the problem of confusion between administrative and technical subordination, and transfer the subordination of the employees of the Pharmaceutical Inspection Department with their grades and specializations to the Egyptian Medicines Authority, in a manner that serves the health system in Egypt. The Senate’s Health and Population Committee, headed by Dr. Mohamed Jazar, recommended the necessity of preparing cadres within the Egyptian Medicines Authority to the extent that allows good inspection of the pharmacies of the Republic, retraining the inspectors using modern methodological means to control violations in the pharmacy system, and establishing headquarters of the Egyptian Medicine Authority in all governorates of the Republic to undertake the pharmaceutical inspection . For his part, Dr. Ayman Al-Khatib, Vice-President of the Egyptian Medicines Authority stated that within days, the problem of transferring the subordination of employees to the Pharmaceutical Inspection Department from the Ministry of Health to the Authority will be resolved to fill the void created by the Authority.
