Dr. Mohamed El Sheikh, President of the Cairo Pharmacists Syndicate and a member of the Egyptian Senate Dr. Mohamed El-Sheikh, head of the Cairo Pharmacists Syndicate, said that medicine is a commodity different from any other commodity, and it is dangerous to sell medicines through electronic applications, explaining that selling medicine is a profession, not a trade, and all pharmacists’ laws do not give a license to pharmacists except in accordance with provisions and all of these articles approved the sale of medicine through Licensed pharmacies that are subject to the control of health. Dr. Muhammad Al-Sheikh stressed, during a telephone interview on the “Cairo Talk” program with the media, Khairy Ramadan and Karima Awad, on Al-Qahera wa Al-Nas channel, that the entry of electronic applications in the field of selling medicine is dangerous talk and affects people’s health, saying: “Applications for selling medicine via the Internet violate the laws Pharmacists". And he continued: "Selling medicines via the Internet may result in many violations during the sale of medicines on electronic applications, and the circulation of medicine via the Internet may be a back door to the circulation of prohibited medicines, and this matter must be addressed through legislative aspects and studying the success of these electronic applications in the world."
