Today, Wednesday, January 12, 2022, the General Syndicate of Pharmacists submitted a report to the Attorney General, Counselor Hamada Al-Sawy, against one of the companies that own an e-commerce website, carrying No. 1955 The Pharmacists Syndicate confirmed, in a statement, that what the company had done by opening an online pharmacy and selling medicines poses a threat to the health of the Egyptian citizen, as medicines are not subject to supervision and inspection by the competent authorities, asking the Attorney General to take the necessary measures against the company, explaining that the company violated the law Practicing the profession in several subjects, most notably “Article 10”, which limited the pharmaceutical establishments to public and private pharmacies, pharmaceutical factories, drug stores, drug intermediaries’ warehouses, and shops for trading in medicinal plants and their natural products. The Syndicate added that Article 11 of the Law on Practicing the Profession emphasized that the license was considered personal to the owner of the institution. It is not permissible for persons other than those stipulated in the law to interfere in the preparation or dispensing of medical tickets or in the sale of pharmaceutical preparations to the public. In its communication to the Attorney General, the Syndicate added that the company also violated Article 79 of the Profession Act, which included the punishment of any person not licensed to practice the profession of pharmacy by imprisonment for a period of no less than one year and a fine of five thousand pounds, whether that person announced himself by any means Publication means to make the public believe that they have the right to practice the profession.
