At a specific request .. India seeks help from Egypt to alleviate the "Corona disaster"
India announced, on Thursday, that it is in contact with pharmaceutical companies in Egypt regarding supplying it with the drug “Remdesivir”, which is used by patients with the emerging coronavirus, in light of the recent exacerbation of the epidemic crisis in the Asian country. Indian Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla said his country had prioritized oxygen imports, adding that 40 countries had pledged support. "We are talking about approximately 550 units of oxygen generation. It will come from different sources from all over the world," he said during a press conference. He pointed out that the UAE, Russia and others have offered to provide supplies of the drug "Favipiravir" to treat "Covid 19", adding that there are contacts with manufacturing companies in Egypt regarding supplies of the drug "Remdesivir". On Thursday, India recorded a record increase in cases of coronavirus infection and deaths resulting from it, to exceed the total number of infections of 18 million, while the government rejected reports of problems in the vaccination campaign. Data from the Indian Ministry of Health revealed that 379,257 new infections and 3,645 deaths were recorded, Thursday, in the highest number of daily deaths recorded by the country since the start of the pandemic.
